Radar launch monitors use Doppler technology to track your ball flight, measuring speed, trajectory, and spin by detecting changes in the electromagnetic waves that bounce off the moving ball. Some models integrate cameras, but radar is the primary data capture technology. They typically sit six to eight feet behind your hitting position for a clear view down the flight line. Radar monitors excel outdoors, and portable units are popular for practice on the range and the course. They accommodate right and left-handed players without repositioning. While indoor use requires more space than camera systems, radar monitors can also deliver highly accurate data at a range of price points.
